on the one hand there are many aspects of academia that should be criticized but on the other hand i’m concerned about the rise of anti-intellectualism as a tool of fascism

Hey yo what the fuck does this say in English? Because if you can’t explain in layman’s terms you’re not doing a good job of getting your point across to everyone.

1. we are right to criticize the many problems in higher education

2. fascists manipulate people into hating anyone involved in higher education for supposedly looking down on them and being worthless to the “real world.” as a result, funding for education is cut, especially for the arts, no one listens to historians who point out that history is repeating itself or speak out against the regime, freedom of speech is lost in favor of the party line, and/or climate change kills us all since no one listens to scientists.

3. therefore, when we criticize higher education, we should be careful not to contribute to fascist tropes that claim that having knowledge is bad/smug/out of touch/useless to society.

Almost every word of this was layman’s terms what the fuck is with ‘wHaT dOeS tHiS sAy In EnGLiSh’

red pill in matrix: everything you know in society is a lie, the status quo is a lie

red pill on reddit: the status quo is good actually, everything u grew up learning is true actually.

Red pill in The Matrix: symbolism for estrogen pills, as The Matrix was written by trans women.

Red pill on the internet: wake up and reject leftism, because if you’re not conservative, you’re a NPC and should die.

This is important

THIS. So hard. We’re at the lowest tax rate in history for the wealthy and they just got a trillion more dollars last year in bonuses. If you aren’t a millionaire or close to it, you should be wondering why taxes aren’t closer to 94% on that high bracket for the wealthy. You know, like it was in the golden years of the 50s all these rich white people dream of.

Video of Drake kissing an Underaged girl, feeling her breasts, learning she’s underaged, then Kissing her again revealed

Fucking get him tried and prosecuted and away from the fucking public. Y'all bitches who were defending can die off too. I better not ever see his shitface in my dash in a good light ever again.

us when Millie Bobby Brown talked about Drake’s level of interest in her life and the “advice about boys” and “things that stay in the texts”: hey Drake is a pedophile that’s not normal adult/mentor behavior around children.

some of y’all: god you’re so sensitive shut the fuck up he’s a good musician he’s just nurturing young talent

We fucking TOLD you all!!! We told you!!!

yo can i make a solid recommendation to my followers and say that “Go for it,Nakamura!” is a really cute and adorable manga about a highschool boy whos really gay for this other boy in his class, and his attempts to become friends and more? Like this is so pure and wholesome and I can’t recommend this manga enough! Its on amazon rn and its about 10+ tax and shipping <3 But its honestly worth every penny!!!

legit i really hope this gets popular cause its so good! It showed up in the recommended for “The Bride Was a Boy” and “My Solo Exchange Diary Vol: 1” (the sequal to “My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness” and another beautiful manga I recommend!) and i went out on a limb hoping it wouldnt be just some fetishy yaoi, and god was that a good call cause its just a good ol gay love story <3 I absolutely love everything about this, from the characters to the art style and story!!

How do you write creepy stories

  • Over describe things
  • Under describe things
  • Fingers, teeth, and eyes
  • Short sentences in rapid succession build tension
  • Single sentence paragraphs build dread
  • Uncanny valley=things that aren’t normal almost getting it right
  • Third person limited view
  • Limited explanations
  • Rot, mold, damage, age, static, flickering, especially in places it shouldn’t be
  • Limited sights for your mc -blindness, darkness, fog, refuse
  • Real consequences
  • Being alone -the more people there are, the less scary it is
  • Intimate knowledge, but only on one side

I don’t know I just write scary things but I don’t know what I’m doing.

Rule of Thumb: your reader’s imagination will scare them more than anything you could ever write. You don’t have to offer a perfectly concrete explanation for everything at the end. In fact, doing so may detract from your story.

You don’t even necessarily have to have anything necessarily “wrong” or violent for a story to be scary. Work from your own fears. Are you agoraphobic? Write a story where not being alone is horrifying. Think of the last nightmare you had or movie you watched that scared the crap out of you, and consider why it scared the crap out of you. It doesn’t even have to be a horror movie. Just a scene or a snapshot that left you with a moment of lingering dread that you can’t explain. Take that, analyze it, use it.

Or take a commonplace event and amplify it into something horrible. “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is probably one of the most unsettling stories I’ve ever read, and there weren’t any ghosts or rot or things that smile too wide at all. It was based on a quack medical treatment, the “rest cure,” that was considered acceptable for women of the time, and arguably did a lot more psychological damage than it healed. For some folks, there’s nothing more horrific than what other people in your life, people who claim to love you, can be willing to put you through “for your own good,” especially if a self-proclaimed expert tells them to.
